Unoccupied Property
If you have an unoccupied property whether it is as a result of renovations, awaiting sale, or move in, death, hospitalisation or the occupier going into a care home we can assist. We also offer a straightforward, yet comprehensive Unoccupied Property Insurance cover for solicitors, probates, executors, power of attorneys, local authorities and healthcare organisations.
Unoccupied property is a non-standard insurance risk due to the property not being in regular use for a variety of reasons and we are confident in our ability to provide cover for your circumstances.
Once Insurers are aware that a property is unoccupied, cover is often cancelled or reduced to FLEA perils: Fire, Lightning, Explosion, and Aircraft. Alternatively, even for Specialist Unoccupied Property Insurance, many insurers require lots of detail that may not readily be available to you. Even if you do find a policy that provides cover, you will probably find that there are significant conditions and exclusions within the policy.
For properties that are unoccupied due to the owner passing away, moving into a care home or hospital we are able to offer a much simpler insurance policy that does not compromise quality or level of cover. With only four pieces of information required: postcode, year of construction, number of bedrooms and property type, every UK residential unoccupied property, with seven or less bedrooms, with a rebuild value of £1 million or less qualifies for our specialist policy.
